Delivery Coordinator

Part-time, volunteer position.

Here2Help seeks a reliable Delivery Coordinator to organize grocery deliveries, made by volunteer drivers, to households who request them.

This is a part-time volunteer position, with an estimated weekly time commitment of 3 to 6 hours.

SSL hours may be awarded. (See the SSL guide.)

Spanish-language skills are ideal.
 

Duties and Responsibilities
 

Delivery Coordinators are responsible for monitoring requests for food (which may be in either  English or Spanish) and ensuring timely deliveries.  This involves compiling delivery requests from the online form; writing instructions for delivery prep teams; and preparing maps & instructions for delivery drivers

The information you share must be clear and coherent to ensure that both bag prep and delivery volunteers understand all instructions. The information is universal and sent to all delivery drivers. 

 

The abilities to multi-task and problem-solve are essential, and you must be able to take appropriate action with little supervision.

  • Monitor the requests for food (in both Spanish and English), and organize deliveries in a timely manner.

  • Provide volunteer drivers with vital information about orders, delivery routes, and delivery instructions. Provide donation sites with information about volunteer drivers coming to their site and bag recipient information

     

Dispatcher Requirements and Qualifications

  • Passionate about helping address local food insecurity

  • Experience with Excel and/or Google Spreadsheets

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Able to work under pressure and time constraints

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Easily accessible by email/phone 

  • Spanish-language skills are a plus
